About
DANCE IN GENERAL
Caro Dumanni began her passion for dancing at the early age of three! Her formal education started at 16 at the Developé Academy where she took Ballet under the instruction of Margarita Facio. Six months later, she decided to continue her learning with the dancer/choreographer Cristina Gigirey.
Her admiration of classical ballet grew rapidly leading her to initiate intensive work with the Costa Rican Juvenile Ballet; additionally she complemented dancing with yoga, gymnastics and taught ballet to teenagers at Saint Paul’s College.
In mid 2005, Caro decided to explore other dance genres joining successfully the Hip-Hop and Breakdance Group at the Prodanza Academy.
BELLYDANCE
In 2007, she started to take bellydance lessons with Jessica Huete, who introduced her to this discipline.
Shortly after this, she began investigating and following the work of world-class artists such as the Bellydance Superstars. Specifically, she was overtaken by the wonderful work of Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Sharon Kihara, Mardi Love and Amy Sigil. Needless to say, her interest turned in no time to TRIBAL FUSION!
Caro started to develop her knowledge in this discipline through intense self-teaching and workshops with the renowned dancer Alessandra Ciacchella. She has also began mastering her zills technique under Priscilla Adum.
In mid 2007, Caro began teaching bellydance to beginners at Bouge Studio, World Gym and the Arts Center Promenade.
In this short time, Caro has earned recognition as one of the best TRIBAL FUSION dancers in Costa Rica. She has been able to share stage with excellent dancers such as Ericka Zayas-Bazan, Jessica Chaves, Melania Madrigal, Irene Dobles, Claudia Barquero, Gaby Kung, Idannia Flores, Paula Campos and Alessandra Ciacchella.
More recently, she attended Rachel Brice’s annual retreat in Costa Rica, where she had the opportunity to share and learn under this wonderful artist.
In 2008, she continues performing at events, developing choreographies and teaching at Backstage, Step Up, Expresarte and her private studio in Santa Ana. In a rare twist of fate, also began designing clothes and jewelry for tribal dancers!!
Currently, she is training her own dance group: “Dumanni’s Troupe”!!!
During 2009, she expects to continue with her professional growth as a Tribal Fusion dancer, including future participation in March at the workshop/event “Tribal Massive” in Las Vegas, Nevada, along and under the legends of this genre: Amy Sigil, Mardi Love, Heather Stants and Rachel Brice.
